OVERVIEW:

The Smithsonian welcomes over 28 million visitors per year to its 21 museums, 13 gardens and National Zoo. Smithsonian Ambassadors meet visitors where they are, roving the National Mall. They help visitors navigate the Smithsonian experience and the landscape of the Smithsonian campus. The core mission of the Ambassador program is making connections between visitors and the Smithsonian. Ambassadors strive to make every visitor they meet have the best experience at the Smithsonian possible by being present, welcoming, thoughtful and engaging.

Smithsonian Ambassadors will be stationed outdoors on the National Mall where they will: rove and engage with visitors and give brief scheduled orientations to the Smithsonian. Ambassadors may be stationed indoors during inclement weather.

Being a Smithsonian Ambassador is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with the public and sharing their excitement for discovering the Smithsonian.
