ORGANIZATION: National MS Society, Greater Illinois

MS Slugfest is a coed, 16-inch softball tournament benefiting the National MS Society, and is hosted by our local Associate Board (Multiple Solutions). This year the tournament will be held on Saturday, August 10 in Chicago's Mt. Greenwood Park.

MS Slugfest needs your time and talent! Volunteers are key to making the MS Slugfest softball tournament a success. Help plan the event, cheer on the players, run day-of-event activities, and so much more. Volunteers receive a t-shirt and complimentary lunch.

Shifts (times are approx.)

  • Morning 6:00am - 11:00am
  • Late Morning/Early Afternoon 10:00am-3:00pm
  • Late Afternoon/Early Evening 2:00pm-6:00pm

Roles:

  • Set-up/Clean-up Crew
  • Off Field areas such as: Registration, Food, Volunteer Check-in, Join the Movement, etc.
  • On Field areas such as: Field Monitors, Floaters, Home Run Derby, etc.
  • Medical Team - CPR/First Aid Certified
  • Photographer

    Floaters
  • Sat Aug 10, 2019 - 08:30 AM to 06:00 PM
    Field Monitors (3 shifts) 8:30-11am, 10am-3pm, and 3-6pm
  • Sat Aug 10, 2019 - 07:00 AM to 01:00 PM
    Team Registration, Food & Refreshments, Medical/First Aid
  • Sat Aug 10, 2019 - morning / 06:00 AM to 08:00 AM
    Event Set up - Help with getting materials to each field and signage placed for the day

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business.
