We’re planting 100 new trees in the along the San Diego River in Santee... and you can be a part of it! Come get your hands dirty digging holes, planting trees, watering, and more.
This fun event is a great opportunity to make new friends, give back, learn about urban forests, and have a lasting effect on people and wildlife. By planting new trees in Walker Preserve you will be improving habitat for local animals and beautifying a local green space.
Details:
* All ages welcome.
* Tools are provided.
* No experience necessary.
* Dress in clothes that can get a little dirty.
* Closed toe shoes required.
* Bring plenty of water and wear sun protection.
* Community service hours can be verified.
* Please note that there are no restrooms on site.

Mission Statement
The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to fostering stewardship and appreciation of the region’s namesake waterway. In order to protect and enhance the San Diego River as a place for recreation, habitat, and nature discovery, we are dedicated to engaging people to be stewards of the River and working towards the vision of a 52 mile, river-long system of parks, open spaces, and community places.
Description
We organize many different volunteer stewardship activities each month. River Cleanups, native plant gardening, habitat restoration, volunteer leadership, water quality testing, outreach and education, special event committees, technical committees and more.
