Want to be part of a nationwide effort to collect school supplies for local children?! Well this is the opportunity for you! Walmarts across the nation have partnered with The Salvation Army on this day to allow us to Stuff the Bus full of school supplies in their parking lots! We are in need of attendants to collect the school supplies as they come in throughout the day. Shifts will be split up between 8:30am to 6:30pm, just let us know when you are available to help during those hours. The Clarksburg Salvation Army has 3 Walmarts to cover, Clarksburg, Weston & Buckhannon. We need all the help we can get! Bring your kids and make it a family affair!

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. It's mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

The Salvation Army offers a variety of services. We are a church, with worship services on Sunday and youth character building programs and adult ministries throughout the week. We operate a family store that sells donated items which support our social service programs. Our social service department has a food pantry, offers utility assistance & clothing vouchers just to name a few services available to the community. Many other services are offered on a case by case and need basis as well as referrals made to other agencies when needed. Clients taking advantage of Our Path Way of Hope Program will work one on one with our Social Worker as she offers support and guidance in getting their life back on track. We also facilitate holiday assistance with food baskets during Easter, Thanksgiving &Christmas. In addition to food baskets, at Christmas we provide over a 1,000 children a year with gifts through the Angel Tree program.
