Help us put on the largest bike ride in Detroit focused the homeless population: Handlebars for the Homeless! This is a fundraiser and awareness promotion event to support the many outreach programs provided by the Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO) to thousands of homeless throughout the city. Join our organization, Black Young Professionals as we support the mission of addressing homelessness in Detroit.

This year has multiple role assignments available, free food, t-shirts, games, mid-way stops, and even a cheer squad. Not to mention, the awesome young professionals you'll meet along with community members. This year will be more fun than ever! Roles include: Greeters, Refreshments, Registration, Pep Squad, Parking Management, Traffic Management, and more.

The event runs 7am-2pm, rain or shine. We have a primary shift and additional shorter support shifts available. Volunteers will be recognized at a BYP event this coming fall. Breakfast snacks and a lunch will both be provided, along with an awesome performance athletic t-shirt. This year's t-shirt color is GOLD.

  • We strongly encourage people to sign-up for the full day shift (A-Team Volunteers)
