Looking for an excellent opportunity to engage new park visitors and educate the public about the Twin Cities’ local national park? Mississippi National River and Recreation Area will again have a booth at the Minnesota State Fair and is in need of volunteers to help staff it. Volunteers will be positioned at the booth alongside a park ranger to talk with visitors about the park. Volunteers will be mailed free admission tickets prior to shifts.

Mission Statement
The Volunteers-In-Parks program, jointly managed by Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and Mississippi Park Connection, connects, educates, and promotes the enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River through unique and entertaining volunteer opportunities to the entire community.
Description
The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.
Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
