Family Fishing Volunteer

This is an event to help families enjoy fishing. We will be teaching participants how to cast using our Backyard Bass game. A fishing license is not required for this program. Volunteers will hand out fishing tackle, collect "caught" fish, untangle reels, and providing casting instructions. Volunteers should plan on arriving at 5:00 p.m. for setup and any training required. Please come prepared with sunscreen, hat, snack and water bottle.

Description

The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.

Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
