Are you available Saturday, August 3? If so we need your help!
On Saturday, August 3, Operation Food Search (OFS) will team up with the local grocery store industry to host Shop Out Hunger (formerly known
as Saturday Jubilee), a region-wide food drive to help heal summer hunger in our community. OFS will join forces with the Community Council of
Hunger Task Force to strengthen our impact in our region.
More than 1,500 volunteers are needed to position themselves outside of 140 grocery stores throughout the St. Louis bi-state area to ask
shoppers to donate food as they shop on Saturday, August 3 from 10 AM - 2 PM. This is a great volunteer opportunity for a church group,
corporate group, or family to get the kids involved! We do our best to match your group with a grocery store close to your neighborhood.
Simply assign a store captain that will coordinate the volunteers into shifts (10 AM - 12 PM OR 12 -2 PM or 10 AM-2PM). There is no expense for your group! All needed materials will be available for pick up at the grocery store customer service desk.

The mission of Operation Food Search is to nourish and educate our neighbors in need to heal the hurt of hunger.
Description
Established in 1981 to address the growing problem of hunger, Operation Food Search has become the largest distributor of free food in the bi-state area helping to feed the region's poor.
Operation Food Search distributes more than 1.5 million pounds of food and household items to 250 community partner agencies that in turn feed 120,000 poor people every single month. Nearly half of the recipients are children.
The OFS service area includes 30 Illinois and Missouri counties surrounding the City of St. Louis.
