Do you love nature and the great outdoors? Do you enjoy working in a beautiful and fun environment?
Moccasin Lake Nature Park is currently looking for Front Desk Superstars to work in our Interpretive Center! Volunteer Job Responsibilities include:
- Front Desk - Meeting & Greeting Guests & Answering Phones.
- Assist staff with various center assignments, as needed.
- Assist visitors with exhibits or answer questions, as needed.
Volunteers must be willing to commit to at least 1 day a week or 4 shifts a month, from 10 AM - 2 PM, either on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.
Moccasin Lake Nature Park is a newly renovated 51-acre nature preserve located in Clearwater, FL. With trails and boardwalks leading to our beautiful Moccasin Lake, you will also find ponds & creeks that sit under a canopy of mature oak and native Florida plants. The park is also home to an array of wildlife including gopher turtles, raccoons, and a variety of birds. It is also home to the Clearwater Audobon Society Birds of Prey, the Tampa Bay Turtle & Tortoise Society, and the Suncoast Herpetological Society. Moccasin lake also has a beautiful playground, turtle pond, butterfly garden and a variety of ongoing educational programs and events that are housed in our classroom!

Description
The Parks and Recreation Volunteer Program is committed to:
- Offering you a positive and worthwhile experience.
- Offering a wide variety of opportunities and flexible schedules for all volunteers.
- Offering local students a variety of opportunities to earn education service hours and complete projects, such as Bright Futures and Eagle Badges.
- Completing a local law enforcement background check and Florida Sexual Offender check on all registered, long-term volunteers or anyone working with children.
- Insuring the safety of all volunteers, staff and citizens who interact with us.
- Acknowledging the efforts and time of all volunteers through various means of appreciation.
- Accepting students, adults, individuals, groups, businesses and other community organizations that wish to give their time and talents to improve the City of Clearwater and it’s Parks and Recreation services, facilities and programs.
- Treating all volunteers equally regardless of age, sex, color, race, national origin, religious preference, political beliefs, or disabilities that do not prohibit performance of volunteer.
