Animal Shelter Volunteer - Cats

ORGANIZATION: Collin County Animal Shelter

  • 76 people are interested

Our volunteers assist with our adoption program working with our animals and the public to find the animals the perfect home. There are many different positions and opportunities in the shelter including walking and training dogs, and potential adopter meetings.

You must complete 4 hours a month to remain an active volunteer with us. And there is a minimum of a 6 month commitment.

You must select either cats or dogs to start with. After being a volunteer with us for 6 months you can cross-train and work with the other species if you would like.

Being a cat volunteer, you will be handling the cats and keeping them happy, calm and clean while they are here.

All volunteers are required to interact with adopters from the public to find the perfect animal for them and their home life. Communication skills are a must with this requirement.

Please email Sara Jones at sjones@collincountytx.gov for the application and for any questions. YOU MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AND COMPLETE TRAINING BEFORE YOU CAN BE A VOLUNTEER.
