VOLUNTEER POSITION: DANCE TEACHER

HOURS PER WEEK: 1.5 TO 3

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION WILL BE AWARDED TO SUCCESSFUL VOLUNTEERS AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A desire to teach adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • A patient demeanor
  • A positive and upbeat teaching style

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The dance instructor for Our House Inc. will lead a dance class once a week during a 1-hour period for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The instructor will come prepared with their own choreography and break down moves step by step: moving as slowly as the clients need to absorb the material. There will be a recital at the end of the season so our clients can show their parents and caregivers the fun dances they have been learning throughout the year.
