As part of Jacora's Place of Hope our mission is to help provide food, clothing, basic needs and personal care to shelters, needy families and the homeless on the streets. On Sunday, September 6, 2020 we are hosting a public feeding where we will be serving bbq chicken, hotdogs and burgers, as well as, spaghetti, green beans & potatoes, macaroni and cheese and dessert to the public. We are looking to serve at least 50 people. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in participating in this cause. We need grillers, cooks, servers, set up and take down crew, someone who passes out brochures, member and volunteer sign-up, donation collector, and picture and video taker. We will also be collecting personal care items (deodorant for M/F, Disposable Razors M/F, toothpaste and toothbrushes) for South Side Center of Hope.

All those who plan to volunteer must wear a mask and if you are serving food you must wear plastic gloves. Thanks in advance

Our mission is to assist the people in our community, in our city, in our neighborhoods and in the streets including, homeless individuals and families, low income families, temporary assistance for needy families, and children of all ages. We also assist shelters and other nonprofit organizations with food, clothing, personal care and basic needs.We are committed to helping others in our community!
Description
JPOH was established in April 2018 where we provide sandwiches, hot meals and nonperishable items to homeless on the streets, needy families and children. We pass out lunches with sandwiches and BBQ to children at the park every summer. We participate in food and clothing drives. We have contributed and assisted to other 501 (c)3 organizations. We donate new pairs of shoes to students at different schools each year. Our goal is to have a building of our own so that we can develop more community service programs, youth programs, education, and food programs to help prevent violence and keep our children off the streets and provide more safety and economic security for the citizens of Chicago. Our motto is "where there’s unity there’s hope". If we can work together with our neighbors we can form a better community!
