ORGANIZATION: Y in Central Maryland

YMCA Long Course National Swim Meet will be held at the University of Maryland - College Park - Monday July 30 - Saturday August 3rd, 2018. It's a treasured and extraordinary celebration of individual and team achievements for athletes, families, coaches and their YMCA Community. Events like these demonstrate the importance and value that competitive swimming has in nurturing the full potential of all youth.

Volunteer roles include:

Runners - Runners will take heat results disqualifications "dqs," and other messages from the judges and timers to the Tech Support room.

Timers - Timers have a vital role. They run the stopwatch as a back up for the timing in the event of a touch pad malfunction. We will provide watches and needed training prior to each session.

Gate Guys and Gals - This is all about customer service and having fun! Gate guys and gals are positioned at the entrance and will float between the Athlete Village Area and the Aquatics Center. these volunteers make everyone feel welcome

Athlete Village Greeters and Roamers - These volunteers will work with the event staff to be sure only the athletes and approved staff enter into the village. The goal is to keep a safe and friendly environment for the athletes at all times.

Hospitality Room - These volunteers will work with event staff to be sure that the hospitality room is attended to. The hospitality room is where coaches and officials refresh with snacks and drinks during the meet. This may include ensuring that drinks are refreshed, and assisting with clearing tables, and catering services are refreshed.

Volunteers will recieve a parking pass for the event, as well as training and a tishirt for their role.
