Volunteer With AARP at the Ohio State Fair!

AARP Ohio will once again be at the Ohio State Fair to talk to fair goers about important issues that affect those who are 50+ and their families. And we have a great time while we’re there! Check out this video from last year’s volunteers: https://www.facebook.com/AARPOH/videos/2241892352592437/

Here is some information to help you decide when you want to volunteer at the state fair:

• This year’s Ohio State Fair runs from July 24 th through August 4 thand AARP Ohio will be there every day.
• Volunteers who register for a 3-hour shift will receive an AARP t-shirt (if needed) as well as an admission ticket and parking pass.
• During our time at the fair, we will be engaging visitors in our Stop Rx Greed campaign, Fraud Watch Network and Caregiving Resources.
• We will NOT be selling AARP memberships or products
• The AARP booth will be inside the air conditioned Marketplace Building.
• The shifts are: 9:30a-12:30p 12:30p-3:30p 3:30p-6:30p 6:30p-9:30p
• Be sure to visit the state fair web site at ohiostatefair.com to check out the concerts and events schedule that might help you decide which day (or days!) you want to volunteer.
• Don’t forget to invite a friend to volunteer with you!

Shifts will fill quickly so please be sure to respond soon to get your choice of shift. Register for your shifts by completing the form at https://aarp.cvent.com/2019StateFairVolunteer

• You will be able to add up to 3 additional people to your registration.
• Mark your calendar for one of the following orientation conference calls:
  • Wednesday, July 17 th @2pm
  • Thursday, July 18 th @11am
  • Thursday, July 18 th @6pm

IMPORTANT: When you select a date and shift, you are agreeing to staff the AARP booth during that time, you are not just informing us of your availability. Please only select times and shifts you are committing to staff the booth.
