Reduce hunger and food waste in Dallas by helping provide free groceries for families affected by poverty through our Direct-to-Door program.

We are looking for dedicated individuals to serve as Hunger ReliefAmeriCorps Members with our Direct-to-Door mobile food pantry.Members gain valuable experience in non-profit programming by working in a team to lead pick-ups and sorting of food donations to distribute to families at low income apartment complexes around DFW.
Requirements:
- Age 17 or older
- US citizen or permanent resident
- Complete a minimum of 1,200 community service hours (approx. 32 hours/week)
- Available all day Mon- Fri approx. 7am- 4pm
- Able to start on September 3rd
- Must be available through May 22nd, 2020
Benefits:
- $12,312 Total Living Allowance
- $4,266.50 Education Award, distributed after successful completion of the program and can be used for existing student loans or future education expenses like tuition and books
- Experience in the service sector
- Members who are age 21+ and willing to drive our van receive a bonus in addition to the base pay above
Successful candidates should be:
- organized,
- self-motivated,
- able and willing to do daily manual labor
- interested in making a difference in the Dallas community

Description
We deliver federally funded meals free of charge to children at after-school and summer sites throughout the country. In Dallas, TX, we also provide nutritious food to families year round with our Mobile Food Access Network. Additionally, we engage and empower individuals to facilitate our programs through AmeriCorps.
