Tenant Intake & Assessment Volunteer

Thank you very much for reaching out to us with interest in regards to the Tenant Intake & Assessment Volunteer opportunity. The Tenant Intake & Assessment Volunteer operates withing the Homeless Services team at Helpful Housing, and would work along side our leasing agents to conduct a brief Intake assessment for program participants at the time of lease signing for their new homes.

The intake assessment is a questionnaire that will assess the new tenant’s specific day-to-day needs, so that we as an organization can better assist our social service partners in connecting their client’s transitioning out of homelessness to much needed services, such as food resources, child care, extended education, and employment coordination, among others.

About the Organization:
Helpful Housing is a Housing-First model nonprofit organization founded in 2010 on the principal that all people deserve a quality place to call home and that housing is the cornerstone of healing.
Helpful Housing has been operating over 300 beautifully renovated apartments in the Long Beach area, dedicated to housing families and individuals in the community, and to date we have housed over 10,000 men, women, and children.
Helpful Housing accomplishes this by working collaboratively with our local and national organizations.

The Intake and Engagement Volunteer opportunity is a new roll for the organization's primary program, the Housing For Life initiative. The hours and work-flow are still being refined. I welcome your questions and comments, as they will help us further define the roll and schedule.
