Groups will join with shelter residents to complete community cleanup activities in the area directly surrounding Simpson's Shelter. The opportunity will be a chance for volunteers to share work with those experiencing homelessness, and after cleanup shelter guests and volunteers will share a simple lunch that the volunteer group provides.
Overview of the opportunity:
Volunteer groups will arrive by 9:30am, and bring a picnic style lunch for 12.
At 9:30 guests and volunteers will gather, collect tools and materials and head out into the community.
Neighborhood cleanup will take place until 11:30, when we will return to the Shelter and enjoy a meal together.
Note: This is an outdoor opportunity, so if inclement weather is present, we will work inside the shelter on some projects.
