Volunteer Recruiter Summary
Do you like connecting people in your community to opportunities, networks and groups? Do you recognize talent in others? The American Cancer Society wants your help to get the word out about our volunteer transportation program, Road to Recovery, which helps cancer patients with limited or no transportation get to treatments.

Responsibilities
Represent the Society in the community and focus on the recruitment of new volunteer drivers, and in some areas volunteer coordinators. Responsibilities may include the following:

- Ask individual, groups, and local leaders to volunteer with the American Cancer Society and/or to share volunteer opportunities in their networks
- Use existing networks to share volunteer opportunities and recruit volunteers
- Identify and approach community service organizations, places of worship, schools, etc. with volunteer needs and opportunities
- Attend community events to recruit volunteers. Coordinate with existing volunteers to provide testimonials
- Distribute promotional materials, such as flyers, videos, etc.
- Answer questions about volunteer roles and requirements with prospects
- Connect prospects to staff partner and training

Training is provided about the American Cancer Society and the volunteer transportation program Road to Recovery, as well as other Society volunteer opportunities that may be a better fit for someone interested in fighting cancer in your community.
