**THIS IS AN ONGOING POSITION, MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE MONTHS OR MORE. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS NOT SUITABLE FOR GROUPS.**
POSITION TITLE: FAMILY SERVICES VOLUNTEER
PURPOSE/GOAL OF POSITION: To support the Escondido Salvation Army Family Services office in preparing and distributing food to homeless and low-income individuals (including veterans), entering data electronically, filing and maintaining related distribution documents as well as other miscellaneous duties.
5 volunteers needed on all shifts.
Available Shifts:
Monday: 8:30 am to Noon
Wednesday: 8:30 am to Noon
Friday: 8:30 am to Noon
Qualifications:
- Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be compassionate while working with homeless and low-income individuals.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Must be comfortable taking initiative.
- Must be available for at least one complete shift per week for 3 to 6 months.
Duties:
- Prepare and distribute food bags for homeless and low-income individuals, including veterans.
- Data entry.
- Organize, maintain and file client related documents.
- Other miscellaneous administrative and cleaning duties as needed.
