ORGANIZATION: Front Porch Community Services

We all can benefit from a little more connection in life. Make someone's day with a friendly visit!

Social Call volunteers meet with older adults for weekly social visits. Volunteers provide companionship, a listening ear, and pleasant company. In-person matches are available in San Francisco, Alameda, Marin and Sonoma counties and by-phone nationwide. Matches are based on location, availability, and shared interests.

Social Call volunteers find that making a visit to an older adult in their community is quite rewarding and many develop long-term friendships with their older adult match.

Social Call volunteers:

  • Receive training and ongoing support
  • Are matched with an adult 60 years or older
  • Visit with their match for an hour each week for 6 months or longer

Bilingual volunteers encouraged to apply. Volunteer training scheduled regularly.
