Here's an opportunity to make a difference in just one fabulous night!
We are having a Grammy Night Celebration to raise awareness and funds. At Recovery Program Solutions of Virginia, we help those with mental health, substance abuse and homelessness challenges. In one night, we can reach a great amount of people and touch their hearts concerning those in great need.
Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. (46.6 million) experiences mental illness in a given year (NAMI 2019). Nearly 21 million people are grappling with substance use disorder, with only one in 10 getting treatment for the condition, according to a lengthy new report released today by the U.S. surgeon general.(ABCNEWS 2016). According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's Annual Homeless Assessment Report, as of 2017 there were around 554,000 homeless people in the United States on a given night, or 0.17% of the population (Wikipedia 2019). The most heart breaking statistic is that "There is one death by suicide in the US every 12 minutes" (CDC).
We just need people to work in shifts to do one or more of the following:
- Set up
- Greet Guests
- Usher Guests
- Act as Wait staff offering appetizers and monitoring the food displays
- Clean Up!
This is a one night, hours only commitment and you will be a part of our mission to help those in need.
