Make a lifelong impact
As a mentor you'll work one-on-one with your mentee, helping and encouraging them as they make progress toward their personal/professional goals. You'll have the opportunity to build an empowering, meaningful relationship with your mentee through conversations and shared activities.
Many of our mentees have been impacted by generational poverty, incarceration or unemployment and are either getting started in their careers or seeking to advance.
Reducing recidivism: Mentoring plays an especially powerful role for individuals returning to the community after incarceration. The US Department of Justice reports the national recidivism rate is around 44% in the first year after release. For Connections to Success participants, the rate drops to 14%. For participants with mentors this drops even lower to 8%.

Description
We provide a comprehensive network of services and support to help people living in poverty become economically self-sufficient and thrive both personally and professionally. Our model, with lifelong mentoring at its core, delivers evidence-based results and impacts all areas of a person’s life. Through our daily work and interactions, we aim to cultivate a hope-filled, family atmosphere where people feel welcomed and empowered to discover their strengths, create a plan for the future and learn core job/life skills.
Thanks to the generosity of community supporters, we're able to provide free professional clothing to job seekers through our Dress for Success Kansas City women's boutique and our men's suiting boutique.
We love our volunteers and encourage you to reach out if you're interested in getting involved. If you don't see an opportunity that fits your skills/schedule, let us know and we can explore other ways to engage!
