For the volunteer who likes to stay busy, House Refreshers help clean and organize the common areas, and clean and prepare guest rooms after families check out of the Ronald McDonald House Charities. RMHC is a home away from home for families whose children are hospitalized or receiving treatment locally. RMHC offers a warm, safe place for families to stay with the accommodations of home. Guest families have access to private rooms as well as a living room, kitchen, laundry room, library and playground.
This team is vital to providing a comfortable stay for our families, as the families and patient's needs require a clean environment.
House Refreshers can sign up for regular or occasional shifts and shifts may vary in time depending on the volunteers schedule. Volunteers can come to RMHC on weekdays or weekends, on a weekly, biweekly, monthly or occasional basis.
In accordance with RMHC Maine’s duty to provide and maintain a workplace that is free of known hazards, and to ensure the safest and healthiest possible environment for each other and the families we serve, we require all staff and volunteers to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Protocols are in place for COVID including daily wellness screening, social distancing, face masks and enhanced cleaning procedures.
