POSITION PROFILE: The Volunteer Leader will assist the Case Management team with Metropolitan Ministries Off-Site Housing during a transition of one family moving out and another moving in.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Using the check-out list, assess the level of clean up and repairs that need to be made after a previous family exited the unit. Clean up any minor trash, food or items left at the unit.
· Inspect the unit for items needed on check-in list: linens, pans/plates/cups/etc., things needed to make the unit feel warm and inviting.
· Coordinate with Thrift Store Warehouse to get items needed items to the unit including nice to have items like a stuffed animal on each child bed, hygiene products in bathroom, etc.
· Leave an encouraging note welcoming the new family into the home.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education and Experience:
o High School Graduate.
· Skill Requirements:
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Must be able to communicate effectively in English
o Self-motivated, ability to multi-task/manage many projects simultaneously, and shift priorities as needed
o Must be able to work independently and also be a team player
o Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.
· Physical Requirements:
o Many tasks involve standing or walking around the units and/or warehouses, and some moderate lifting (<40 lbs.)
