Transport our veterans to their military appointments. For many this is the only chance they get to leave their homes and attend their appointments.
Volunteers are needed to meet at the Tri-County Chapter (located at 701 Centre Ave, Reading, PA)
Remain at the hospital until noon and drive clients who have completed appointments back home.
Greet clients cheerfully and initiate brief conversation.
Report any unusual situation to VA Program Coordinator.
Transportation is provided Monday through Friday, 7:00am. - 1:00pm and drivers cover one day.Qualifications-
Willing and able to support the Red Cross mission, and have an awareness of and appreciation for military service and veteran’s issues.
Clean driving record.
Comfortable driving a 14-passenger van.
Cheerful, polite and enjoy interacting with people.
Able to maintain confidentiality.
