Purpose: To enhance the residents understanding and use of technology and equipment available to the

Help Teach seniors how to use technology. The change in cell phones to smart phones has brought about the need to teach seniors how to utilize all the features in their new phones. The change in technology has increased the need for more seniors to learn how to operate such technology to continue communicating with their families and friends.

• Assure all residents and clients interested in participating are accommodated and comfortable
• Educate the parties on the purpose and the process of the education
• Provide the opportunity to take notes and ask questions
• Coordinate with site staff regarding any equipment needs
• Maintain the privacy of residents and do not disclose confidential information entrusted to you during the course of your work
• Discuss with staff any observations or recommendations with regard to this activity
• Notify your supervisor immediately if any injury, fall, change in condition or concern about any resident - assist with any incident report as necessary
• Sign in and out on volunteer log
