Who we are:The Women’s Building (TWB) is a multi-cultural, multi-service center for women and girls in San Francisco's Mission District, which welcomes people of all genders.
What We Do:The Immigrant Food Assistance (IFA) Food Pantry provides assistance to hundreds of immigrant families each week at our pantry, which is every Monday from 8am- 12pm. We support these families with food distribution including a mix of produce and dry goods and exposure to community resources related to nutrition, employment and other social programs.
Who We Are Looking For: Someone with excellent oral and written skills in Cantonese. Preferred knowledge or experience with various immigrant communities and elder populations. The ideal candidate will be sociable, patient and understanding with an interest in supporting the local community and will be willing to stay in this position with flexible start/ end dates.
What You Get: Internship will include developing skills in group supervision/ management, community outreach, event planning and program development. A working knowledge of the local elder-immigrant population and culture, the ability to enhance language and communication skills, the experience of helping to support our local community and be part of a progressive organization.
