Are you interested in making a difference in your local community? Have you been looking for a way to get involved in the fight against pancreatic cancer? Join the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) as our New York City Affiliate volunteers raise funds and awareness year-round to support research and clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy, and community engagement work. Our volunteers support us in a number of capacities: social media, outreach and awareness, fundraising events (our PurpleStride NYC 5k run/walk is every Spring!), advocacy, and media outreach. We need you!
This is an incredible opportunity to directly impact the outcomes of those affected by pancreatic cancer. They need our help, and they need it now. In these committee leadership positions, you would be supported by a staff member from the organization and a team of local volunteers. There is robust training offered and it is a great project to add to any portfolio or resume.
Pancreatic cancer is currently the third leading cause of all cancer-related death in the United States - and it impacts every state across the country. In order to rewrite the future of pancreatic cancer we need communities nationwide to join together and create a movement. This national movement needs your leadership and vision to continue to thrive and grow!
If you are interested in expanding your skills, planning a meaningful event, and truly making a difference in this fight, please email Affiliate Chair Alice Chung at achung@pancanvolunteer.org for more information.
