We are in need of volunteers of all kinds and capabilities with a shared interest in local history.
We are looking for volunteer board members who would like to help us with exhibition or event planning and are willing to meet on a monthly basis to give input to our operations and programming.
We are also looking for "front of house" volunteers with outgoing personalities that would like to meet and greet the public and answer questions about the museum, etc.
Introverted volunteers are also needed to work "behind the scenes" and help with researching items, cataloging donations into our collection system and helping with exhibitions.
It is a fun and rewarding place to spend your time that provides lots of learning and outreach opportunities.

Mission Statement
The Wayne County Museum is guided by the Wayne County Historical Association. We are a 5013c started in 1988 and dedicated to preserving and displaying our county's rich and diverse local history.
Description
We are your local history museum. We research, create and display rotating special exhibits on various local history topics. We take in and catalog donations of historical value to preserve them for posterity . We provide tours as requested to individuals and groups. We periodically have various lectures and presentations by authors and historians.
