Help save lives by volunteering your time to drive cancer patients to treatment! The American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program provides rides for cancer patients that have no other way to get to their appointments.
The Ardmore Road to Recovery program is unique because we have a vehicle available for our volunteers to drive so they don't have to put miles on their own cars or pay for gas. However, you are more than welcome to drive your own car if you feel more comfortable!
We drive Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30am-5:00pm.
Requirements:
-Volunteer drivers must be between ages of 18 and 85.
-Volunteer drivers must have a valid driver's license.
- Volunteer drivers must have access to a computer, tablet, or smart phone
-Volunteer driver must have a valid email address
-Volunteer drivers must have a properly working vehicle with valid tags.
-Volunteers living in the Ardmore area have the opportunity to use ACS Road to Recovery vehicles.
-Volunteer drivers must use a vehicle that is insured according to state laws where the vehicle is registered.
-Volunteer drivers must have passed the Society's driver risk management review (background check, driver's license verification, motor vehicle record check)
We are in need of more drivers as soon as possible because our requests are growing, so please reach out to us if you are interested!
Call us at 1.800.227.2345 or visit www.cancer.org/drive to learn more about how you can get involved.
Thank you! We are so grateful of our volunteers and our patients are even more thankful for having this stress-free opportunity available to them!
