YOU are needed to help guests in the Kennedy Shelter Education and Employment Resource Center!
The Kennedy Shelter is an emergency shelter for single adults experiencing homelessness in Fairfax County and is located by Ft. Belvoir. You are needed in the Education and Employment Resource Center (EERC) to help guests on their journey from homelessness to housing.
In the EERC, you will assist guests with building and tailoring their resumes, searching and applying for jobs, developing soft skills, and more.
This opportunity is great for anyone who is looking for ways to engage with guests, have some flexibility in their schedule, and make an impact. You will be asked to commit to volunteering once a week for 2-3 hours. The EERC is open beginning at 9 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m., seven days a week. The most needed time is during the week from 3-7 p.m.
You do not need any specific background in HR or developing resumes, simply a willingness to work with guests and help them on their journey. Our Employment Liaison has developed resources that you will have access to.

New Hope Housing is the largest provider of shelter beds in Northern Virginia. In addition to shelter, we provide our residents with opportunities to better their lives through case management, life skills courses, recreational activities for children and adults, parenting classes, GED tutoring and our Employment Resource Center.
