We need engaging, experienced, volunteer math instructors!
Nearly every adult we meet who wants to complete their high school diploma with the GED Testing Service needs math instruction.
We have developed a program that helps anxious, math-averse students master this material. Would you be willing to commit to 4 week sessions that meet twice weekly for two-hour classes? Small group instruction at the Main Library. Level I is basic whole numbers and decimal operations. Level II is fractions, ratios, proportions, percents. Level III is introductory Algebra and Geometry. Students who finish are prepared for both employment-related numeracy assessments as well as the GED Ready Mathematical Reasoning practice test.
It is a terrific service to them and your help makes it happen. We have sessions that start at 11am and other sessions that start at 5pm. We hope to hear from you.
Thank you for considering the needs of students at Center for Adult Learning, Jacksonville Public Library. Please share this opportunity.
