Pioneer Center's Special Olympics program began in 2015 and has since transformed lives through the joy of sport. With over 70 competing athletes, the program offers 9 sports at no cost to those being served at Pioneer Center. We are looking for volunteers to support our athletes!
Inclusion: competing against athletes in Region B that includes McHenry, Lake and Northern Cook County
and state-wide competitions
Opportunities: attending Chicago Bears training camp, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Dogs, and Chicago Sky games, visiting colleges, meeting professional athletes, participating in the All State family picnic day and more!
Recreation: basketball, soccer, track & field, bowling, volleyball, flag football, bocce ball, swimming and snowshoeing.
Benefits: improving confidence, social and physical skills, showcasing athletic talents, enhancing coordination, weight loss, new experiences, team building, friends, and fun!
