The Expedition Project is a collaborative network that relies on transparency and partnerships to create sustainable experiences for international travellers as well as provide projects with much needed funding, manpower, shared innovations and awareness.
Our Wildlife Conservation Roadtrip is a chance to explore the leading edge of conservation.
Join us on a journey of discovery through Southern Africa featuring 5 conservation partners committed to protecting the environment and all its creatures.
Starting from Cape Town, the Mother City, journey to Nkonzo Wildlife Research, where you will get up close to Lion, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino, as well as rare African leopards.
Experience what it's like to work on a Big-Five game reserve.
From there, it's a short hop to the Nature's Valley Trust, a small non-profit, located on the magnificent Garden Route, committed to protecting one of the most sought-after stretches of South Africa's coastline.
As a Research Ecology Volunteer you'll work alongside acclaimed biologists, researching several different habitats, including beach, estuary, river, fynbos and forest.
Next stop is the Amakhala Foundation, near historic Grahamstown, located on what is widely regarded as the premiere game reserve in the Eastern Cape.
The Volunteer Programme here covers all aspects of conservation: from the preservation of endangered species and the protection of bio-diversity to critical scientific research.
A few hundred miles to the North, in the majestic Limpopo Province, you'll visit the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre which focuses on the conservation of rare, vulnerable and endangered species, including the world's fastest land mammal, the cheetah.
As a volunteer, you'll experience first-hand the work of the centre, including research, the breeding of endangered animal species, and their release and establishment in the wild.
Hoedspruit is also home to a sanctuary for orphaned rhinos and rhinos who have been the victims of poaching.
Finally, stop by the Mogalakwena Research Centre, which is reintroducing indigenous wildlife to two large reserves in the area.
This is a chance to be a part of the profound transformation of 4000 hectares of mountain, forest, river and pristine African savanna.
This is the Wildlife Conservation Roadtrip. Five institutions linked by a shared mission to preserve our natural heritage.
You can join any of these projects for 2 to 4 weeks or you can combine all of them into a life-changing conservation experience.
Join us to explore the frontiers of conservation.
Get your hands dirty on our journey to drive change.
