Volunteers meet every Monday from 10am - 12pm during library hours in order to sort through and organize new donations into appropriate sections in the book barn. New volunteers start with date stamping donations as they come in, and becoming familiar with the layout of the book barn. Alphabetizing is an essential skill. Come on Mondays that are convenient to your own schedule.
This opportunity comes with a lot of dust, and requires some light lifting. People with allergies or breathing issues should be aware of the risks of dust and old books. Children may volunteer with their guardians.

Mission Statement
The Friends of The Milton Library is a 501(c)3 organization established to raise funds and support the programs and ongoing needs of the Milton Library Branch not covered in the Fulton County Library budget. We also promote awareness of the library, hold fundraising events and encourage public support.
Description
The Friends Barn, our new home, is a new structure with an old soul. The barn is a larger replica of the Dinsmore barn that once occupied this rural property in Crabapple on the corner of Charlotte and Mayfield Roads, where the Milton Library now stands. Much of the structure was built from reclaimed wood carefully salvaged by The Friends for this very purpose.
The barn was built under the inspired leadership of Friends Board member Bill Lusk supported by countless hours of effort by many volunteers.
The Friends use the barn to store gently used donated books which the Friends sell to raise money to support library services and programs.
Since the library opened in 2014, the FOML has been able to raise funds to support its Summer Reading Programs and so much more. So far in 2019 FOML has funded $20,000 of programs and support for the library with support from community donations of money and books.
