If you are local to the Medina-Summit county area and interested in helping us maintain our beautiful facility WE NEED YOU! Primary tasks include mowing common areas, pasture, weed-wacking around the property to maintain a well manicured appearance and manage over-growth. General repair and maintenance of 2 lawn tractors and ATV on as-needed basis to keep our equipment in tip-top shape. Helpful, but not required would be someone who knows how to operate a front-end loader to help maintain and manage the manure compost pile would be a HUGE plus! Basic wood-working skills would be ideal to help us with on-going "to-do list" of small projects and barn repairs.
We are seeking 1-2 people able to give us 4 or so hours per week on and on-going basis. Make your own schedule. This is a great opportunity for someone in need of completing community service hours, a retired or semi-retired person or anyone with the time and interest in making a difference who enjoys being around animals, in nature and getting their hands a bit dirty. We also have a weekly Barn Buddy volunteer program available on set shifts if you're interested in animal care.

Mission Statement
The mission of Forever Amber Acres Animal Sanctuary ( www.foreveramber.org) is to provide purposeful rehabilitation, training, retirement aftercare and refuge for special needs horses and other animals to serve others. FAAAS is part of a national ad-hoc anti-slaughter rescue network that works with other individuals and organizations to advocate for animal welfare and humane treatment for equines and all animals. By identifying abusers and educating the public to the injustices befalling these animals, we seek a positive and permanent impact on the growing trend of animal exploitation and horse slaughter in the United States. Once rescued, we provide adoption and retirement options either on our premises or through our partner network. While our primary focus is horses, we do not discriminate against any animal or breed. All creatures in our care are treated humanely and with compassion.
Description
Founded in 2008 by Michele Bolinger, FAAAS operated as a private, self-funded charity prior to obtaining 501-c3 status in 2014. We are an all-volunteer organization with 100% of revenue from all sources going directly to the care of our special needs animals and the maintenance of the facility they call "home." In addition to the rescues in permanent retirement the sanctuary we are pleased to report that in the past 12 months, our organization has assisted in the successful placement of 17 animals including a family of 6 llamas, 3 horses and 2 Golden Doodles to safe, permanent homes.
