We have a multitude of volunteer opportunities. Currently an area of need is for drivers to drive our truck or people to assist with pick ups at homes, businesses, and food providers in the Cedar Rapids area.
Note: Pick ups at homes or business require that the donations are on the main floor and all together. We are NOT a moving company.
Pick ups done at local food providers are loaded at the facilities by the providers.
Some pick ups require reasonable lifting while the food facilities do not. A driver could do food facilities only if that would be more desirable.

Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (or "Vincentians" ) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. We are young and old. Our members come in every shade of skin color. Some of us are wealthy, some are financially poor, but all of us are blessed with an awareness that our blessings (time, talent or treasure) are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need.
Description
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person to person basis. The essential precept is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those we serve.
We feed over 100 people a day and provide access to food, clothing, housewares and furniture. We also provide rental and utility assistance.
