WHAT WE WILL DO:

Project Helping volunteers will serve lunch to the homeless men staying at the San Diego Rescue Mission. The food is provided, and we need your help to serve it.

OTHER DETAILS:

San Diego Rescue Mission is a non-profit homeless shelter and recovery center serving thousands of homeless, hungry, and poor men, women, and children in San Diego since 1955. Their mission is "To lovingly address the needs of men, women and children experiencing homelessness by sharing the Good News of Salvation and providing a holistic approach to rehabilitation and recovery." Through the act of volunteering, you are actively investing in your community while also improving your mental wellness! Volunteering is proven to have numerous health benefits including improved mood, feeling healthier, increased sense of purpose and reducing stress levels. Volunteering can also give us a deep sense of happiness, both immediately and long-term. * 94% of people who volunteer say that volunteering improves their mood. * 96% of people who volunteer say that volunteering enriches their sense of purpose. This is just some of the science that supports the mission at Project Helping and outlines why it’s so beneficial to do good things for others. We call that practicing kyndfulness. #BeKyndBeWell Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details. We’ll also send a reminder email and a text a few days before the event! More Questions? Email Project Helping at volunteer@projecthelping.org or call 303-551-0624
