South Boston T.E.A.M. is a one-to-one community-based mentoring program. We match youth who live in South Boston with caring adult mentors. We ask that our mentors commit to hang out with their mentees for 2 hours a week every week for at least 1 year. Our matches do fun things around the community like explore new neighborhoods, catch a bite to eat, and play basketball. T.E.A.M. runs monthly free events for you and your mentee to attend, like trips to Six Flags, Red Sox games, and apple picking. We check in with you monthly to offer support and we email out free and low-cost acitivity ideas every week.
Don't underestimate the power you have to make a difference in a child's life! By caring and investing time and attention in a kid, we see big improvements in their self-esteem, in their attachment to school, and in their ability to make positive life choices. Supporting kids now helps them build tools that will sustain them throughout their lifetimes. We are looking for committed, caring adults who are willing to invest the time and effort to be a positive role model in their mentee’s lives.
