As a Hospice volunteer, you will likely find your own life enriched as you build relationships with patients and their loved ones. You will have the opportunity to enter into sacred spaces with people and walk with people on a journey into and through the end of physical life. Intrepid Hospice recognizes dying as a normal life process. We focus our attention on enhancing the quality of our patient's life at this time while also providing support for their loved ones. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought its challenges to our society and to the Hospice field. However, it will not stop us from making a difference in the lives of Hospice patients safely and responsibly.
As a Hospice volunteer, you can do a wide variety of things based on your own skills, talents, and interests. Some of these things may include;
- Support for patients, such as virtual visits, calls, writing letters & cards, and
- Administrative support for in our office (with social distancing and masks) and through Patient/Family calls, cards, and mailings.
- Companionship for loved ones; a connection to the community.
Every Intrepid Hospice Volunteer receives extensive training before being placed into a volunteer opportunity. Volunteer opportunities will be filled based on your own comfort level and preference. All training, background check, and drug screening are provided by Intrepid Hospice.

Description
Intrepid USA is a national healthcare company providing home health, hospice, and private duty services to thousands of patients and families. Intrepid started in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1994 as a home health care company. We quickly expanded to have over 80 agencies in 21 states, and are currently headquartered in Dallas, Texas. In 2012, Intrepid Hospice was added, providing palliative and supportive care services to terminally ill patients and their families. It is the hope and belief of Intrepid that, through supportive care and open communication that patients and their families will attain a degree of physical, emotional, and spiritual preparation for a death that is satisfactory to them.
