Hours: 10 - 15 hrs./weekly

Location(s) and Hours : Dolphin Market at Pacific Drive Elementary - 1501 W Valencia Dr, Fullerton, CA 92833 | M-F, 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM (some weekends may be required)

Please Note : This is a non-paid position; however, where possible, we will accommodate hours needed for school credit.

Overview : As a partnership among Project Hope Alliance, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Pacific Drive Elementary School in Fullerton, the Dolphin Market was established in the spring of 2019 as a community resource that provides families access to free, fresh, and nutritious groceries on a weekly basis. In addition to fighting hunger in Orange County, Project Hope Alliance also provides the Dolphin Market community with an on-site Community Resource Liaison to assist families experiencing homelessness by directing them to crucial services designed to cultivate self-sufficiency and stability.

Job Duties

  • Help sign up families to receive pantry resources
  • Help enroll and track volunteers for pantry
  • Assist in shopping experience for those receiving pantry resources
  • Recruit and train volunteers as needed
  • Maintain volunteer incentive/recognition program
  • Assist in facilitating pantry deliveries and restocking
  • Maintain all health and safety codes and standards for food and nonperishable items
  • Assist in assessing students and in enrolling them in the Bright Start Education Program
  • Help maintain updated student caseload files
  • Help identify additional needs and obtain resources for Bright Start students
  • Create and develop a Resource Guide for community for greater assistance
  • Write, edit, and post pantry updates on social media
  • Assist with community outreach efforts
  • Represent PHA at resource fairs and community events
  • Attend program and organizational events

Skills and Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or a related field
  • Bilingual preferred ; proficient in both Spanish and English.
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues of homelessness
  • Ability to deal with crisis situations effectively and calmly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with databases, especially Salesforce, is a plus
  • Access to a car with current California driver’s license and automobile insurance
  • Pass a FBI/DOJ LiveScan background check

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to speak, hear, and see, and to lift objects up to 40 lbs. May require the ability to travel locally and/or regionally.
