Mobile Resource Bus Driver

Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas

Direct assistance is provided to those living in rural, outlying areas through our two Mobile Resource buses. Each bus is equipped with basic essentials including food and clothing. In addition, a case manager is on board to provide rent, utility and medication assistance, as well as community referrals. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, we send out the mobile resource bus to a scheduled area (Holton, Emporia, Troy, etc.) to provide families assistance. The north bus is taken out on Tuesdays and the south bus is taken out on Wednesdays. Each week we need 1 volunteer driver on Tuesday and 1 volunteer driver on Wednesday to drive the mobile resource bus to the assigned location. This will be an all-day volunteer opportunity - roughly 7:30AM-4:30PM, since most of our locations are around 2 hours away. In addition to driving the bus, sometimes the volunteer can help with passing out food, hygiene, clothing, etc. to those we serve. A CDL is not required.

We expect volunteers to commit to one day a month for driving, but will always welcome more. For additional information, please contact Cari Olberding at 913.433.2104 or
