A great opportunity for a wide variety of skill levels. Take this opportunity to make a difference on the Trail as well as make new friends and connections in your community.

The Susquehanna Appalachian Trail Club's Trail Master will determine where the work is done, everyone will meet at the Dauphin Park and Ride regardless. This work day will tackle areas where a large group can make a difference on a maintainer's section.

This is a regular one-day work trip with SATC. Work includes removing blowdowns, repairing trail erosion or weed control, graffiti removal, shelter cleaning/care as well as large trail tasks, such as building new tread, bridges and major rehab projects. Participants should wear sturdy boots and long pants. Please bring plenty of water, lunch, and snacks in a small knapsack. All tools and work gloves are provided. It's a good idea to bring rain gear, bug repellent, and sun protection. Wear or pack layers, since weather can change quickly. Reach out to the Trip Leader with questions about equipment.

Mission Statement

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s mission is to protect, manage, and advocate for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

Description

Appalachian Trail (A.T.) is a project built on civic engagement. It exists because people like you step up and help out in a variety of ways, outdoors or inside. Activities can be physical (such as Trail work or boundary maintenance), creative (like contributing photography or writing), or organizational (like planning or leading activities).

Volunteers gain new skills through their work. Whether you volunteer because you enjoy time in nature, want to forge new friendships, or appreciate having a deeper connection to a place you hold in high regard, we are glad you are here.

There are a variety of ways to contribute your talents and your time.
