Diversion Engagement Leaders increase client and family understanding of Hennepin County Attorney's diversion program. Volunteers encourage participation and successful completion of diversion programs by providing support and helping to remove barriers to completion. Volunteers also help staff maintain accurate and timely information on the youth.

The mission of the DOCCR volunteer program is to encourage and support community Engagement through volunteering with our client populations. Volunteers serve as a unique link to the community for our clients.
Description
The Mission of Hennepin County Community Corrections and Rehabilitation is: to enhance community safety, promote community restoration and reduce the risk of re-offense. Through the engagement of volunteers with our clients and residents we are able to link community resources to assist us with accomplishing our mission.
We have volunteers who volunteer with Juveniles and Adults in Residential Institutions, we have volunteers who assist with Court Services. We volunteers who volunteer in both Adult and Juvenile Field Services.

- Orientation or Training
- A minimum of 15 hours/week for six months is required. Hours fall Monday through Friday during traditional business hours.
- Volunteers must be able to be contacted by phone and email, be supportive of youth/families under duress, be comfortable & respectful working with diverse populations. A second language is a plus.
