Mission Statement
Cardinal Hospice’s mission is to provide quality care for patient’s faced with a life-limited illness. The goal is to improve the quality of a person’s life through pain and symptom control, as well as with emotional and spiritual support. We believe the patient and family are integral decision making members of the hospice team in planning care. Cardinal Hospice offers as alternative to repeat hospitalizations. Hospice affirms life. It neither hastens nor postpones death but assists the patient and family in living with a life limiting illness. Cardinal Hospice recognizes dying as a normal process at life’s end, which we can provide dignity and comfort for the patient and their loved ones
Description
Cardinal Hospice was founded on the belief that end of life deserves just as much recognition as the beginning. Our founding member, and his family, experienced the beauty that truly compassionate end of life care can bring to the dying. They experienced hospice care first hand and the powerful support and impact that it can provide. As a health care provider himself, a wish was born that he would one day be the provider of such wonderful care. By combining his strong knowledge of hospice and unending compassion for the dying with the assistance of experience hospice clinicians, the wish is now a reality. Cardinal Hospice believes everyone deserves the best possible end of life care. We are dedicated to providing anyone who choses Palliative Care with the best care possible.
Volunteers are a valuable resource to our patient/families. They come from diverse backgrounds and lifestyle situations. A common thread of caring and compassion unites them in their volunteering. They are a help to us and our families, and an important part of our care team.
