ORGANIZATION: Special Olympics Southern California

On Saturday, November 2, 2019, Special Olympics Southern California - Inland Empire Region will host our Hats Off to Special Olympics fundraiser at the beautiful Speakeasy on State in Redlands. This is a beer and wine tasting event with a Roaring ’20s, Casino-Night theme designed to raise funds and awareness for more than 4,000 Special Olympic athletes served throughout the Inland Empire.


Volunteer Opportunities:

Beer & Wine Pourers:
We need 10 - 12. Volunteers must be willing to take the Special Olympics Class A Volunteer training (takes about 45 minutes and is good for 3 years).
NOTE: If you don't have a current bartenders license, you will need to take the online Alcohol Awareness Training course. This course costs $12.50 will take 3 hours to complete and is good for 2 years. Upon completion of your shift at the event, we will reimburse you for the cost of the course.

Security: We need 2 volunteers who will be responsible for checking ID's as guests enter the venue and making sure guests are not leaving impaired without alternative transportation.

Paparazzi:
We need 1-2 experienced photographers who can provide their own equipment to take amazing photos, edit and send them to us within a week of the event.

Videographer: We need an experienced videographer who will edit and make a 3-5 minute shareable keepsake of the event.

Silent Auction/Raffle Support: We need 3-4 to assist with monitoring the silent auction and tables.

All volunteers are asked to wear solid black bottoms with white tops and will be expected to help with tear down immediately following the event.

If you are in the area, you may be invited to join us at one of our pre-event committee meetings (attendance not mandatory, just informative).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21
  • Orientation or Training
  • 6 hours. The actual event is from 6-10. We need all volunteers to be there an hour before for set up and training and an hour after for tear down. Everyone will be given a 15-minute break during the evening.
  • Beer & Wine volunteers will have additional requirements (see description)
