The Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut, Inc. (ELCCT) includes the Indian Rock Nature Preserve and the Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center and sanctuaries in Bristol, Burlington and Southington, CT. Our Mission is to inspire an appreciation and enjoyment of nature through education and conservation, fostering a healthy environment and an improved quality of life. ELCCT hosts a variety of special events throughout the year at both facilities and we are looking for interested adult Volunteers. Duties could include set-up and break-down of event areas, admissions, food booth, information booth, leading special hikes, lectures or programs, and parking assistants.
Annual Events are:
February- Pancake Breakfast & Maple Sugaring Demonstration at Indian Rock Nature Preserve
April- Egg Hunt at Indian Rock Nature Preserve
April- Earth Day Open House at Indian Rock Nature Preserve
May- Spring Fair at Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center
July- Music on the Farm at Indian Rock Nature Preserve
October- Fall Family Festival at Indian Rock Nature Preserve
December- Santa's Walking Wonderland at Indian Rock Nature Preserve

Description
Environmental Learning Center of Connecticut, ELCCT, offers a diversity of hands-on experiential programs using a variety of resources and facilities. Our programs are offered at the Barnes Nature Center, Indian Rock Nature Preserve and in the schools of Connecticut. We annually provided our environmental educational programs to over 25,000 children and families from over 70 Connecticut communities! In addition to our education programs, ELCCT also serves as a land trust and has protected over 750 acres of land in Bristol and Burlington, Connecticut. We encourage you to get involved.
