Looking for eager volunteers to cook hot meal for a community of individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. We are hosting a special hot meal in honor of Care for Friend's preceding Board President whom served on the board for ten years! We are thrilled to celebrate with the wider community in honor of JD Miller and Mike Aden's matrimony on August 10th.
If you have a group of friends who are looking to volunteer for a good cause and love to cook, this opportunity is great for you. We will provide a team leader to help navigate and instruct the cooking and plenty of food from our pantry. The food is always great and we have guests, volunteers, and our staff hungry for more!
This service day begins at 9am and concludes at 1pm at our 530 W. Fullerton location in the parish hall of Church of Our Saviour--Care for Friend's longest partner.

Description
Our flagship program is "Food for Friends" - where we create a safe space for anyone requiring a meal to gather in community for a no-cost hot lunch served in sit-down, family style with dignity and respect.
Other services are available during this gathering time, including haircuts, a health clinic, clothes closet, and toiletries distribution. Additionally, representatives from our various partner organizations begin to make connections with our guests - establishing trusting relationships that will ultimately allow our guests to connect with the services they need to achieve a better quality of life.
