About the BBQ Bolt Run/Walk
Spice things up this summer with the third annual BBQ Bolt Run/Walk event hosted by the Downers Grove Park District on Saturday, Aug. 28! Starting and finishing at McCollum Park, the BBQ Bolt will bring the community together to celebrate summer with fitness followed by a post-race Picnic in the Park featuring BBQ, beer and more.
The BBQ Bolt supports Downers Grove Park District's inclusion services, through SEASPAR, for people with disabilities who want to participate in a park district program or activity.
Why Volunteer?
Looking for an opportunity to have fun AND give back to the community? The Downers Grove Park District is seeking volunteers to help as course marshals. All volunteers will receive complimentary breakfast and a volunteer shirt!

5K Course Helper: Stationed at one location on the course to direct runners at intersections. A cell phone is required for communication purposes. Hours: 6:30-10 AM on Saturday, Aug. 28.

The Downers Grove Park District provides the community with diverse outdoor and indoor recreation amenities including: 49 park sites on 600+ acres, 28 picnic areas and 6 picnic pavilions, 23 playgrounds, 17 lighted tennis courts, 20 baseball and 13 soccer fields, 8 basketball courts, 6 horseshoe courts, 9 holes of golf, 18 holes of miniature golf, 7 walking or nature trails, 160 acres of natural areas, 400 community garden plots, 1 bandshell, a museum of community history, a nature interpretive center.
