Willow House is a non-profit organization that provides support services for grieving children and families.

We are looking for volunteer facilitators for our groups in Arlington Heights, Chicago (Lakeview), Libertyville and Bannockburn/Deerfield. Volunteer facilitators are required to complete a 17-hour training prior to beginning to volunteer at our groups. Our next training will be coming up in Spring 2020 with dates to be announced.

This training will be held in the Willow House offices located at

This comprehensive training provides an experiential and instructive guiding framework for understanding grief and loss reviews educational information and research regarding children and grief and provides instruction on how to be an effective peer support group facilitator.

A $50 donation is requested to help cover the costs of materials and other training expenses. Upon completion of the training, participants will be asked to make a commitment to facilitate a monthly group for a minimum of one year.

Willow House exists because when a child experiences the death of a mom, dad, sister or brother they feel lost and alone; their life and family is changed forever. Willow House provides a safe place of hope where it is okay to feel sad and talk about it. It gives kids strength through connection with others so they can move through their grief. We give them back the potential to thrive, not just survive.
